These multi-story storage facilities are becoming more popular. There was a smallish one on the lake we frequented while in Illinois, and a big one is under construction here on Lake Coeur d' Alene. As to the latter, right now you can only reserve space if you purchase a new boat from them. Kind of a two-fer deal.
