Why Didn't The Red-Eared Slider Cross The Road?

TSG encountered this little critter in the middle of the road on Indiana Dunes National Park's Lake Front Drive. Seeing as how he/she was heading straight for a 4ft retaining wall and fearing a unhappy vehicular encounter, we  picked up the aquatic reptile and put her/him back in the undergrowth on the safer side of the street.

This is just one of four huge hangars displaying over 350 aircraft, missiles, combat vehicles and associated hardware. TSG spent 3.5 hours here in two separate visits and still didn't see everything.
