Editor's note: Originally (rather boringly) named Hot Springs, the town changed its name in 1950 in a bid to garner national attention. AT that time the T or C radio show offered to broadcast its 10th anniversary show from the first town to rename itself after the show. So Hot Springs became Truth or Consequences. They got the free publicity and ended up with a better name to boot.

I did not know that back story.
"Truth or Consequences" was my fave game show as a kid. Bob Barker was great.
And, as for the town, you had me at The Giddy Up Cafe.
