Vertical-Axis Wind Turbines, Somewhere In The Mojave

We encountered these 20-odd years ago on (we think) Red Rock-Randsburg Road between CA 14 and US 395.  There doesn't seem to be any info available online, but inquiries have been made. Possible update to follow.

Not sure how the efficency of those would compare to the 3 prop windmill jobs.

These particular examples would seem to be from a previous generation of the type. They were clearly past their prime when the image was taken. The closest image match I can find is a type manufactured in Poland, but they are of more recent vintage (c.2014)
