Vertical-Axis Wind Turbines, Somewhere In The Mojave

We encountered these 20-odd years ago on (we think) Red Rock-Randsburg Road between CA 14 and US 395.  There doesn't seem to be any info available online, but inquiries have been made. Possible update to follow.
