...As were all the attendees of the 28th Woodies on the Wharf car show--so the Mayor decreed at the event's kickoff this morning. A "First Saturday of Summer" tradition, the show is a grand gathering of wood-paneled vehicles from across the country, enjoyed by a large crowd of appreciative locals and tourists alike.

Interesting co-in-key-dink. Just yesterday, "Surfin' Safari" came on the radio, singing about loading up their woodies, and my daughter asked what that was. So I explained about station wagons having wooden-sides and such, and how they became a kind of tie-in to the surfing thing of the 60's. I could have waited a day and just had her watch this posting.
My favorite image here, by the way, was a no-brainer. It was the Rat Fink car ornament or whatever it was. Most amusing.
