The annual rite of spring at Willow Street Park

Artistic (?) impression of WG Little League sponsor bricks

Sat through many of my son's Little League games (both stateside and in Singapore). Even coached for a couple of years, if you can wrap your head around that.

Nancy has a sponsor brick at a library back in Illinois - reads, "Shhhh, I'm reading"

And, that is THE Willow Park? I can't remember a ball playing venue there. I just remember the bowl-shaped area where a certain band of ill repute played one Labor Day and where some goofy high school kids would sometimes play ball tag.

Yep, same place--it's "official" name is Willow Street Frank Bramhall Park. Little League has been a thing there for quite a while--on spring weekends there are usually at least 4 games going on simultaneously. It's also a hot spot for lawn bowling and pickleball. You probably wouldn't be surprised to learn that these days the "bowl" hosts "Music In The Glen" concerts and "Shakespeare in The Park" events in the summer.

Those features in the park sound pretty cool. If only those artists and actors were aware of how storied their venue was... .
