Not sure Lennon & Co. could have done too much with that poster. Not enough text. Then again, they say a picture is worth a thousand words.

I am truly puzzled by the suggested physics of this stunt. What causes the car, at the points indicated, to do forward rolls?

The forward roll implied by the illustration baffled me as well. A half-hearted search failed to come up with any contemporary accounts of the act. I noticed the driver is a woman; there were several famous female daredevils working in circuses in those days but none that I could tie directly to the stunt in question.

Hmmm. Perhaps that had one, and only one, such performance.The driver perished, and the survivors went in search of something else to offer the public.
