The "other" Las Vegas definitely won't be confused with the Nevada version, but it is a very popular filming location due to the relatively well preserved architecture of the downtown area. Movies filmed there include Easy Rider, No Country For Old Men, Red Dawn, and Paul, a TSG favorite. The TV series Longmire was filmed here as well.

Geez. From what I can see, the three main industries there are eating, offering lodging, and . . . getting a haircut (possibly with a shave). The bits of color splashes here and there are hardly enough to spruce up the apparent blahness. (Spellcheck insists that "blahness" isn't a word, but I'm sure I read it in a Peanuts comic strip some decades ago.)
Las Vegas' downtown business district has a lot in common with the towns I've passed through. Lots of closed storefronts, and a lot of the open ones seem to be hanging on by a thread. Of course recent events have cut both local and tourist patronage. Even before the pandemic it seemed like the "thriving small town main street" was a dying breed*. Even so, they make for great places to stroll around and take pictures.
*with the exception of those that have gentrified/reinvented themselves as a day trip destination
