Recently, TSG has noticed a hummingbird spending what seemed to be an inordinate amount of time hovering and flitting around outside the bedroom window. Since there are no flowering plants in the general vicinity, we wondered what was going on.
Well, after a bit of closer observation, we discovered the reason for the hummer's hanging about:
*Baby Bird

Fantastic TSG. Dig out your best telephoto lens and go for a sharp closeup. 2 per day until the fledgling leaves the nest.
We have 4 hummer feeders in our front yard, and flowers in the back that attract them as well. Highly entertaining little grubbers.
Unfortunately, the nest is positioned in such a way that it's just about impossible to get a good photo. As it is, I had to hang almost halfway out the window to get those shots...not conducive for taking pics with a fully zoomed telephoto. Maybe next time mama hummingbird will choose a better place to build her nest.
Let’s name him “Fuzzy”
Remember I had a baby hummer on the patio and you asked Tiana to ne him?
