Townshend Tales: Goings-on at the La Valencia Hotel
Pete talks about his stay at La Jolla's venerable "Pink Lady", former workplace of Eddie Vedder. Special bonus trivia: TSG was born just a kilometer down the street from the hotel. For best(?)viewing experience, watch full-screen version on youtube.

"God's retribution." Pretty funny.
Nice to see Pete so enjoying himself on the grounds.
You can often spot a true tale by the fact that the story builds towards an obvious climax that doesn't actually occur.
RE:storytelling...
I was listening to WTF earlier this week, and Mark's guest was Penn Jillette. Penn had an interesting take on telling stories; he said that you weren't recalling the original incident, but you were retelling the story based on your memory of the last time you told it. (if that makes any sense)
Not sure that's true each and every time, but I'll bet it's true a lot of the time. Repetition is how we learn stuff, right? But at some base level, what you are learning that way is what you are repeating. So, over time, yeah, seems like you'd be retelling the story as previously told rather than, necessarily, the original source event.
Mayhaps just another reason why I so distrust eyewitness testimony. "People see what they want to see, and hear what they want to hear, ya dig?" And with that, the Rockman went promptly and soundly asleep.
