Just Grouse-ing Around On The Taft Point Trail

Sooty Grouse, to be more specific. We encountered several of them doing their morning thing, softly hooting and pecking at tasty morsels on the ground.

In ID they're often called Forest Chickens. We sometimes had them come and visit the tree right by our front door
