An Osprey (aka sea hawk, river hawk, fish hawk), seen at the newly-opened Don Horsley/Tunitas Creek Beach Park*. There was also a pair of Peregrine falcons soaring along the edge of the bluffs, but they were too far away to get a decent photo.
*In our opinion the most scenic beach between San Francisco and Monterey.

Nice shots, TSG. During our ID time, we often saw fledgling ospreys landing in local trees, stretching their wings mightily, and looking around as their parent(s) squealed overhead and they worked up their nerve to take again to the air. Didn't take them long, of course, to nail the skill and become mighty raptors.
