Well, yeah, what else can one do to try and make some B&W portraits of a bunch of dudes, sans much real context, interesting for at least a minute plus?

It left me wondering what, exactly, is a "range rider?" Are these cowboys, or is range rider a name for some particular group of (presumably) horse riding guys?

Make portraits of some dudes interesting for a minute...well, yeah, that's pretty much what happened with this post. Actually what happened was I saw a blurb about the new "Youtube Create" App, installed it, and looked for a clip to experiment with. The Range Rider HOF gallery was my second attempt and I thought that it looked cool with the kaleidoscopic effect. And it seemed to match up with the middle bit of Tommy Bolin's "Homeward Strut", and voila, my work for the week was done.

The term "Range Riders" basically refers to the cowboys, cattlemen, ranchers and pioneers of the area going back to the days of the Montana Territory. The museum in Miles City is spread out over 13 buildings full of artifacts of every kind and walls are covered with portraits of just about everyone who came west to set up shop. Besides the HOF, there is also the "Pioneer Gallery", which doubles as an assembly space for local events.
