Another iconic Rt 66 spot, the Wigwam Motel in Holbrook (one of only 3 remaining "Wigwam Villages). Unfortunately we've found it impossible to book a room over the years -- we've yet to have a phone call answered and every time we've been there the office has been closed. Obvioualy someone is working the reservation desk--all the Teepees seen to be occupied whenever we pass by.

I looked to the sages of our youth for possible guidance, and found only this:
Big man (yeah)
Walking in the park
Wigwam
Frightened of the dark
Some kind of solitude is measured out in you
You think you know me, but you haven't got a clue
Yep. You got that "haven't got a clue" part right for sure.
I was in the general vicinity of the Wigwam Village #2 in Cave City KY last week. I figured if I could get a "room" for a night it would be worth a detour. Pulling up the website, I was surprised to see availability. However, the rate for the day I wanted was $195/night, just a bit too much to justify a full-day's detour. Guess I'll have to be satisfied with my stay at the Wigwam Motel in San Bernadino (which was a very nice property)
