The SS Palo Alto, iconic landmark of Seacliff State Beach in Aptos made headline news earlier this year when the pier was destroyed by winter storms. TSG was on the scene this week to document the current situation with the pier and the state park facilities.

A couple of similar maxims come to mind: "Never turn your back on the ocean.", (Duke Kahanamoku) and "Nature always bats last" (Paul Ehrlich)
Ah yes. I'd forgotten about the "bats last" quote. That is an excellent one.
