More Dried Meat Than You Can Shake A Stick At

Artist's impression of Buc-ees Jerky Counter, Luling TX

TSG was looking forward to visiting our first Buc-ees, the legendary everything-but-the-kitchen sink travel store, but we have to say our first impression wasn't all that great. For one thing, the gas pumps had no windshield washing supplies whatsoever. The store itself, while certainly big and stocked will all kinds of crap, wasn't head and shoulders above similar establishments that we've come across in our travels.

We will, however, have to give the big beaver's megastore props for having a really impressive display of beef jerky.

Remember the world's largest Truck Stop (so they said) in Iowa? That place had, I think, everything and the kitchen sink (couldn't buy it, but it was there being employed regularly). And then there's Wall Drug, of course. A fair amount of competition out there for such honors.
