Opened for business in 1883, Glenwood Springs' Colorado Hotel has hosted such luminaries as Teddy Roosevelt and Tom Mix. Legend has it that a couple of ghosts wander the halls, however when TSG and Elaine were here several years ago we did not encounter any spirits (other than tequila).

Given that vintage, I would have bet that it was first built by Fred Harvey, but a little Wikipedia'ing proved me wrong. I guess Mr. Harvey had to have a least a little competition back in the day.
Speaking of Harvey Hotels, I stayed at one of the few remaining examples of Fred's hospitality empire: the La Posada in Winslow AZ. If memory serves, I had the Clark Gable room (and yes I did walk down the street to stand on the corner).
Of course you did.
