Cool. We've been boating a few times on the St. Croix River in Minnesota, and marveled at the spot where the latter runs into the Mississippi. No question in our minds about why the Mississippi is nicknamed "The Big Muddy." The line of demarcation between the upstream St. Croix and the Mississippi itself was as clear as mud; which, in this particular case, was very, very clear.
