Having just driven through Pigeon Forge, I have to agree there is a LOT of tourist-trap-crap. I found it strangely compelling though; it was hard not to stop every block or so just to stare in awe at some of the edifices erected to draw people in. Pretty amazing place.
"Forge," right. Pigeon Forge. What a curious name, eh? Image what images one might reasonably expect if you commanded a class of art students to render a "pigeon forge."

OK, if ever there were a perfect location just begging for a fish eye lens, this is it. Looks cool.
I've spent time in the Smokies, and don't recall this feature. Then again, the Smokies covers quite a bit of territory.
Or maybe I just spent too much time in Pigeon Falls looking at tourist crap.
