There is a loose group (at least a Facebook group) in Coeur d'Alene that promotes painting rocks and then hiding them wherever in the area (but especially on hiking trails). When you find one the etiquette is to take a picture of it and post on the FB where you found it, and when, and then, preferably, you hide it again somewhere else. Unless you are truly besotted with the rock, in which case it's actually considered OK if you keep it instead. Generally speaking, those rocks (and we've found a few here and there) are most often pictures of something rather than mere words. I think I prefer the pix versus all these preachy little stones.
