The Whole Enchilada And More

Are all of these images from the Moss Landing area? Cuz if they are, wow; nothing looked familiar to me at all. I suppose a few decades of non-visiting could yield such a result without much surprise. And actually, I think of Moss Landing as more of just a place to launch boats (and take them back in again). My dad took his aluminum fishing boat out through there a time or two (to participate in the annual shark derby). The image that just cracked me up was the boat on blocks where somebody had leaned a couple of big wheels up against it.

Except for the last couple of pics(which were taken at Elkhorn Slough and in the hamlet of Aromas), all that stuff is in Moss Landing. You are correct in your assessment that there isn't much "there" when it comes to Moss Landing...but sometimes that's a good thing.

One new "attraction" that I happened upon was the Shakespeare Society of America/New Shakespeare Sanctuary Learning Center. There's more Shakespeare-related stuff than you can shake a stick at in there. If you're a fan of the Bard of Avon be sure to stop in--the folks are very friendly and happy to chat with visitors.

I didn't exactly loathe Shakespeare in high school, but probably came close. Then, in college, I had a Shakespeare prof who was amazing. He'd set the stage (by setting the context and the times; you could fear and smell the audience), explain things in plain English, and then proceed to read selected portions while convincingly playing all the characters. It was a hoot, highly engaging, and I became a major Shakespeare fan. Chicago had a nice Shakespeare theater that was quite worth going to.

Deep fried artichoke hearts, yum!
I am hungry now.

The ironic thing about that deep fried artichoke sign is that one of my main goals in going down to Moss Landing was to have some for lunch. As it turned out, the only places that had them either weren't open or had a 30-minute minimum wait to get a table. So, sadly my fried artichoke jones went unsated on that day. Bummer.
