Missed It By That Much

Having just passed this spot 15 minutes earlier, TSG got to wondering:
What about all the other old oaks on the verge on the way home?

Glad you are unscathed. Ugh.

That said, the expression "Missed it by that much" of course immediately invoked great memories of Get Smart. Not the TV show either, but rather the paperback books. Made me laugh back then, and makes me laugh now thinking about laughing back then.

Speaking of Get Smart, I have to say I didn't like the 2008 remake. It was a little too violent compared to my fond memories of the series. On the other hand, Anne Hathaway makes almost any movie worth watching.

Thank goodness there was never a mash-up episode featuring 99 versus Mrs. Peel; my poor little adolescent head would have exploded. And if Batgirl had dropped by . . .
