The octopus compass thingie is excellent, right? And I get "fringehead," but how the heck did the adjective "sarcastic" get involved? Of all the descriptors one can conceive for sea life, that attribute and word just don't come readily to mind. As for that creepy thing on the surfboard, I don't really want to know; it is fairly unsettling, frankly.

Don't know the etymology of the name, but a quick google informs me the sarcastic fringehead is a tube blenny. That's probably not helpful to inquisitive readers, but it's all I've got. As to the creepy thing, it's surfin' burrito, possibly related to the surfin' taco mascot of the Imperial Beach Street Taco shop.
