The third annual "Village Scarecrow" event is underway in Saratoga, so TSG decided to go check it out. No offense to the good villagers, but we found the offerings (except for a few notable exceptions) kinda meh. It's all good though...because TSG found the perfect song to go with this week's slideshow. In fact, we think the soundtrack brings the production to a whole 'nother level. See if you don't agree:

The sound kinda cuts in and out, but otherwise, neat.
The choppy sound is a Picasa audio bug. I was too lazy to fix it last night. I'm also too lazy to fix it tonight. Maybe tomorrow...
Where did you find that song?
I got the song by doing a video search for "Disney Scarecrow" and then I used a youtube/mp3 converter and downloaded the audio file. Interesting trivia tidbit: that particular episode originally aired opposite The Beatles' first appearance on the Ed Sullivan Show. I've wondered for years why I didn't see the Fab Four's famous debut--now I know Walt Disney and Patrick McGoohan were to blame.
Wow. First of all, either your're a harsh judge of scarecrows, or the pix your present really are the cream of the crop (so to speak). Cuz I pretty much liked them and was entertained throughout.
As for that "wow," wow, that song is just plain awful. Except, maybe sorta kinda, in a Disney kid's program setting, I guess it kind of works.
I did, in fact, see the Beatles first appearance on Ed's Really Great Shew, and I have no regrets whatsoever that I missed out on the original airing of this tune.
All in all, a very special and thought provoking posting, TSG. Thanks for that.
