The Elephant Seal season is drawing to a close at Point Reyes National Seashore. But there are still quite a few "weaners" hanging out on the beach. They'll be heading off into the open ocean in the next couple of weeks. In the meantime they mostly lay around, have play fights and make rude-sounding noises.

Probably the inspiration for the first hot dog. Seals of all types and stripes are just plain amusing, and the bigger, the better.
By the way, as "weaners," I wonder if any of them have considered running for Congress?
