I ♥ The Pinnacles too! I had planned on hitting the caves but it was too wet and they were closed. It worked out okay though because I ended up taking the Balconies Bypass trail which afforded the awesome view of Machete Ridge. The only thing missing from the day's foray was any decent wildlife sightings--no condors or bobcats which I see almost every time I go. Oh well, maybe next time.
Spring has sprung, at least judging by the content of your pix. I camped there once as a kid, and nevertheless what I saw in your pix didn't look remotely familiar. As a kid I was probably focused on something other than the big picture, I suppose ("Look at this rock!").
