More On The Hookah-Equipped Caddy

A better look at Louie Mattar's Fabulous $75,000 1947 Cadillac on display at the SD Automotive Museum. Louie's team drove it non-stop from San Diego to NYC and back in 1952.  He followed that journey up with a trip from Anchorage to Mexico City. Pretty cool, even if the kid doesn't seem all that impressed.

Wow. Just "wow." The hookah-equipped dashboard is just a minor achievement for this guy. Changing the tires while driving? Incredible. I've never heard of this vehicle; it is mind boggling. I need to go take a cold shower (in my car, of course).

Yeah, the modifications Louie made on that Caddy are pretty amazing. It reminds me a little of the 1948 Buick that Ken Adams used in his 1955 outback adventure "Northern Safari". Man, those were days for automobile adventurists/tinkerers and the fantastic journeys they undertook.
