The Solar Dancers Of Jalama Beach

The staff at the Jalama Beach entrance booth have a really nice collection of Solar Dancing Figures.  Sharks, skeletons, surfers, hula dancers, godzilla, a swiinging monkey, Uncle Sam, a Mariachi Band...a whole herd of 'em. Unfortunately they're displayed behind a window with a huge amount of glare and reflection.  A few of these images leave something to be desired, but you get the general idea.  TSG has to admit we fell down on the job by not capturing some video, considering their main attraction of Solar Dancers is their various and sundry sun-ray generated movements.  Oh well, maybe next time.

Wow, I feel so out of touch - I've never heard of these things.

The sombrero-sporting Godzilla is top shelf, of course, and the Mariachi band is excellent. The hula-dancing shark was pretty odd, even when judged by the likes of these.

You get these at the 99 Cent Store!.

Elaine, you better not be funning me - if I can get a sombrero-wearing Godzilla for a buck, put me down for a gallon.

Sorry to disappoint, but that Godzilla piece goes for $19.95 on Amazon. The $.99 Store may sell some version of Solar Dancers, but the ones displayed at Jalama Beach are probably more expensive. My fave of the bunch is the guy hanging on to the palm tree with the shark fins circling beneath him.
