I had both Venus & Mars and Speed of Sound on vinyl back in the day, and I have V&M in digital form today. I in my (very) humble opinion, V&M is an OK album while SOS is the best of Macca's bad albums. As a result, I never pursued SOS in digital form and haven't even heard it for decades. So, all things considered, and if you're really sure about this whole freebie thing, then I would humbly accept the SOS album. Perhaps the years have been kinder to it than my initial thoughts, or perhaps bonus materials on it, if any, are worthy.

Those pictures really resonated with me because they're from places where I've hung out--they gave me a little thrill of connection--"Yeah, I've walked in Paul McCartney's footsteps" or something like that.
I prefer Venus and Mars to Speed Of Sound, but SOS has "Silly Love Songs", which has to be (yes, I'm admitting it--go ahead an laugh) one of my top 3 favorite songs by Paul ever. The SOS re-issue also has an alternate version of "Beware My Love" with Jason Bonham on drums, which is a treat.
Regardless of what one thinks about the songs themselves on these two albums, the remasters sound absolutely wonderful. I don't have any experience with "Hi-Def" downloads, but I would expect them to be a a sonic step up or two from previous versions.
Say, what are the names of the rescue kittens?
"Silly Love Songs." Wow. OK, yes, I went ahead and laughed. That said, the SLS sequence from Paul's movie Give My Regards to Broadstreet is, in fact, way cool and makes the song more than tolerable. Unless I'm watching that video, however, I kind of have trouble making it through the entire tune. It's just one of those songs, I think, that has that effect on people. That bass line is absolutely an earworm, and that can drive folks crazy with irritation or adoration, I think.
The kittens are probably named El Guapo (the little guy) and Feather (the little gal), though we reserve the right to make changes; that is what we were calling them as of about 9:30 PM last night. I uploaded a video of them playing for the first time with a cat toy that was new to them cuz, you know, the Internet and YouTube don't have enough cat videos yet.
I'll be watching for the code - thanks much, TSG! Just another reason, I guess, why this is the ONLY blog I read!
