Tehachapi Trees

Looking for Roadside Attractions along our route to beautiful Barstow,
TSG found an entry for "Avenue of Faces"

Well, we certainly couldn't pass that up. We were hoping to see more of Kent Holgrem's handiwork, but we were enchanted by the few examples we saw in his yard (on the corner of Mojave and East E) and across the street at Phillip Marx Park.  Not super exciting, but every small roadside gem adds a little bit o' American 2-lane sparkle to our road trip tiara.

Ha, these are great!

I remember going to Knott's Berry Farm with my Dad when I was a little kid and they had a section of carved "Woodimals." The pictures you show are way, way more intricate and imaginative than what KBF had, but carved wooden stuff has always been a charmer for me since then.
