Well, this is quite excellent! Were you, like, literally the first ticketed person through the doors of the auditorium? Very cool photographic journalism, TSG! Thanks ever so much for putting this cool slide show together.
I was probably the first-non staff person inside, but mostly because I was curious about why everyone was standing around in the lobby. I nonchalantly walked past the assembled ushers and into the empty theater and caught a unofficial preview of the video backdrop.
The Arlington Theater, by way, is a really wonderful venue. You can't see it in the photos, the upper walls and ceiling are painted to give the effect of being in an open air courtard. (sort of like the Blue Bayou Cafe in Dizzyland)
I guess I should note what a great great experience it was to see the prefab three last week. I'd go see them again in a heartbeat--but I wouldn't take a camera. The reviews for the shows have been almost unanimously positive, and IHMO, with good reason. The word nostalgia gets tossed around alot talking about The Monkees, but the bottom line for me was that I went home with a huge grin on my face (not to mention a few wiped-away tears of joy).
