A typical break room in a typical office: the usual microwave, toaster oven, coffee pot, rice cooker, fridge and water cooler. But, wait, what's that atop the fridge, you ask? Well, it just happens to be leftover from the Halloween potluck. Sort of an "accent piece", if you will.
TSG pretty much resigned from the potluck gang at work a couple of years ago. The graphic photos below illustrate one of the key reasons: people never clean their (pardon my French) shit up!
No haz-mat suits were available this morning, so rather than attempt a toxic clean-up, we decided to conduct a little experiment and see how much longer the rotting pumpkin would remain atop the fridge. Perhaps unsurprisingly, somebody got rid of the putrescent gourd about 30 minutes after these photos were taken. Kind of a bummer, but least we were able to capture the moment and share it with y'all.
Bon Appétit!

Man, that is nasty! Ugh. In the last photo we see what appears to be a big clip on the top of the pumpkin. What's that all about?
Wait . . . a rice cooker??? That ain't so typical by midwestern break-room standards.
Not sure about the clip. Didn't want to get too close. Maybe it's to hold the thing together and keep it from oozing all down the side of the fridge?
The rice cooker is used regularly by the guys on the evening shift. They're only marginally better at cleaning up their stuff. One Monday morning I went in to make my coffee and was treated to the wonderful aroma of half a cooker full of rice left out over the weekend.
