Swingin' Singles (and no, I don't know why the video isn't centered correctly)

Maybe if I add some extra text it will display the way I want it to? Nope, that's not it, either. Hell, I dunno. Here's the youtube link if you want to watch it the other way: http://youtu.be/3a4mVdNWf4Q

Oh, wait, maybe that worked...

Classical Gas appears twice - s'ok, it deserves to!

I still have my little carrier full of my old 45's. I think the last 45 I bought was either 99 Red Balloons or Harrison's Got My Mind Set On You. Early 80's, I guess. I am mildly grubbed that I lost a few along the way including the first 45 I ever bought, Nancy Sinatra's The Boots Are Made For Walkin'. I'm also missing a novelty single called Irving (no big loss there).

An eclectic mix, by the way. Singles probably told more about us than the albums we bought, at least at particular moments in time.

Elton John is in there twice as well...you'd think scanning a few 45s and doing a simple slide show would be easy. But no, I had to try to get a little fancy and made a hash of it. The "finished" product shown here is really more like "Screw it, I'm done messing around with this crap!" I won't bore you with the technical details, but what should've been a 30 minute job ended up being an almost 3-hour exercise in head-banging frustration.
