The Central Coast hamlet of Atascadero is famous(?) for it's largest employer, which would be the all-male, maximum-security state hospital. Unfortunately, TSG did not have time to visit the venerable institution during our stopover.

Some of us are more interested in the fact that this town is on (or near?) the Salinas River!
Not sure I get how the images of cartoons on a TV screen were seen from the street? And in such multitude?
Those "TV cartoon" images are, in reality, window paintings that TSG encountered at Stagecoach Liquors (aka the Jail Saloon). Said establishment was the southern terminus of our brief Atascaderan meander, where we discovered the delicious Dogfish 60 Minute IPA.
