Davy Knowles opened up with a well-received acoustic set. He talked about living his dream, opening for Jeff on the US tour. (Not to mention dropping every guitar god's name from Frampton to Townshend to Gallagher to the the bluesmen of Chicago and Mississippi). Good for him, I hope he goes far!
And then, the man of the hour (or two in our case). El Becko, The Guv'nor, the guitarist's guitarist, Jeff Beck. My sixth time; and I still want more. The most fun part of the show: as the rest of the band was still coming on stage for the encore, Jeff fired off a sparkling, twangy version of the theme from "The Beverly Hillbillies"!!!

Nice review.
Did the Beckster get around to any stage chat, and if so, did he happen to mention whatever old car he happens to be working on these days?
It's good to see him so spry, but he does kind of look like he's been using the Keith Richards' line of facial care products.
Was the entire show instrumental, or did he bring out any planned or surprise crooners?
Jeff spoke a little more that night than in the previous shows that I've seen...seven or eight sentences, maybe? No mention of cars.
As far as Keef comparisons go, yeah, he sports the Richards/Woods "rooster cut"--hasn't he had the same hairdo for 40 years? His face ain't nearly as craggy in person as Richards or Ronnie, though. (I think your impression has more to due with image noise).
No surprise vocal appearances by JS, IH, EC, JM, etc. Just as well. As has been the case for many years, Jeff let his guitar do the talking(/singing?).
