TSG encountered this little critter in the middle of the road on Indiana Dunes National Park's Lake Front Drive. Seeing as how he/she was heading straight for a 4ft retaining wall and fearing a unhappy vehicular encounter, we picked up the aquatic reptile and put her/him back in the undergrowth on the safer side of the street.
Hopefully that will satisfy the thing's wanderlust. We had big snappers crossing our roads in Illinois, as they wandered from pond to pond seeking companionship.
