Umpqua River tip--if you ever find yourself in the area and are looking for a scenic drive, you can't go wrong with the Umpqua River Byway between the coast at Reedsport and Roseburg. I attempted a drive on the Byway east of Roseburg to see some waterfalls, but the fires were still kind of active in that area--the road was open, but there were still-smouldering patches here and there alongside the road--so I ended up turning back. Maybe next time.
They make a fine ice cream. Didn't know they also did fine sunsets.
