No offense to any Elko-ites out there, but TSG's pasr visits to The Big E have been less than exciting. Not much more than a pit stop or maybe just an overnighter after a long day in the saddle. This time out we decided to visit the nearby Ruby Mountains and explored a little bit of the spectacular Lamoille Canyon. Turned out to be really worth a 3-hour side trip. The hills were alive with the sound of, um, cascades of fresh snowmelt coming down the canyon walls. Pretty cool spot.
Beautiful. And, good gravy - is that a beaver dam??? If so, those must be Rose-Hulman degreed beavers, cuz that is pretty freaking amazing.

ReplyDeleteYep, I believe that is a beaver dam. Or more accurately, a series of 3 or maybe 4 of 'em. Didn't see any of the critters themselves, but their handiwork is certainly admirable.
